3 Days til' Christmas

3 Days til' Christmas... Is your Shopping done?  Holiday Cards mailed out?  How do you prepare for spending time with family during the holidays?

I spent the day making cookies with my step-Mom.  Nothing is better than building memories, sharing special moments or even starting new traditions with family.

Pinwheel Cookie

Salted Caramel Cookie Cups

Gingerbread Men in the Making

Pretzel Chocolate Buttons

May everyone enjoy their weekend and the Holidays.  Best Wishes to You & your Families. ~♥ Louri

Gobble Gobble

Thanksgiving, a day spent with family/friends.  A day filled with good conversation and hopefully laughter and joy.  Being thankful for ones health, all things they have and for those that are in their lives.  Then we fill our bellies with delicious food that only tastes best on this day.
I have always been one to play with my food.  'well' if you give it a face... it's going to take on a life of its own.

coffee swim, gobble cookie?

oh noes, gobble cookie has been run through! *the yellow eyed one in the foreground is suspect*

gobble cookie & gourd man eyeball eachother

Now that Thanksgiving is over and we eat our leftover turkey sandwiches.  Time to pull out the Christmas Trees, Decorations, and start the Christmas Shopping!  29 more sleeps until Christmas Morning!  *Best Wishes*

Change of Focus

I had a Photo Shoot with a fantastic Couple and their 2 Dogs this weekend who bid on a Photo Shoot offered in an Auction to help a family in need.  The photo shoot almost ended before it got started as we woke up to dark clouds and rain.  Thankfully it cleared up and the sun even even shone through half way through the shoot for this great Couple and their fur family.

Ironic how everything falls into place as I have long been contemplating my next move.  Sometimes when you decide to do 'more' with a hobby, you need to find your 'niche'.  I knew what it was at the start, as I keep trying to get animal related part time work and even volunteering.  Animals have always been my 1st passion, I would still like to go back to school to work with animals, that would be a dream come true.  For now until that happens, I enter the world of Petography.

Test Monkey

So it seems what I am missing is a blog.  If anything to see my thoughts hashed out on screen.  If they are found interesting or useful then even better!  When I was pregnant with my Quadruplets I had a website I had created simply for updating family and friends, so that I didn't have to repeat myself over and over as my pregnancy progressed, as they were born, their journey in the NICU, milestones, little did I know I was impacting lives and had become a great resource to new High Order multiple Mothers.  I had little idea the power of the internet.  For me it was just a way of communicating to my friends and family.  I am so glad the information I left behind was so useful and I later found out to be so life changing.  It's unfortunate that I had to remove my website from the web due to the thievery of my photos and someone 'pretending' to have multiples.  The horror of finding my photos online & my children renamed with this 'made up' life.  It made little sense to me.  It was years before I shared any imagery outside of email again.

Fast forward to now to my blog which will be shared on my website lorephoto.com where I have enjoyed sharing my photography with others utilizing natural lights and elements.  However as winter months are upon us and not all photographs can or will be done outdoors I have been experimenting with external lighting.  My Test Monkey 'Mr. Gibbons' was a great test subject so long as he stayed upright ;)  I feel with these it can add more to what I can offer.

With the market flooded with 'Family & Children' Photographers, I have been contemplating twisting two of my passions together.  Stay Tuned...
